hello,
is there a way to build fluid or responsive website layout
so that my site works both for desktop, smartphone & tablet ?

Yes, that's what the layout containers are for.

Well, i created a page with a layout container and put 2 thumbnails
(horizontaly) in it :
when i resize the published page in my browser its still not fluid,
the first thumbnail displays, not the second ... can't figure it out !!!

As example, try the 'Brown streched' template in WebsitePainter. It's not the best example, but maybe you see how it works: When you resize the page, notice how the brown parts are still covering the full page? With the layoutcontainers, you can simply arrange parts of your website to align with the size of your browser. You can add more layoutcontainers for the content, then.

I gave it a try, still not what i'm looking for (adaptive layout from desktop
size through tablet to smartphone)
