Hey guys, I'm trying to get a .x model back out of my CCB file, long story short I had major computer issues with blue screens due to system ram instability, and had to reformat. I got my texture back out just fine, it's got a standard png header still on it. but all the (kinda old looking) docs I can find on the .X format tells me it's got a header that looks like "xof" Only I can't find it for the life of me in the file. I'm uploading my CCB, I spent a great deal of time on the model and texture, so please don't steal for your own projects. http://www.filz.us/view/d0a826ca... there's no real game logic or anything interesting besides my fps pistol and hand (single mesh, habit from using away3d during the pre-molehill days) and I'd love some help. from what i can tell, the model's data starts around 410K bytes I can see bone names once in a while and texture references after that. while I'm happy I have the .ccb, the gun model is huge in scale and the animations were placeholder so i'd like to get the .x back for reimport and fixing in max.

got my mesh back out through some format reversing. it didn't appear to be .x anymore at all. I got the mesh back, bones i could care less about as it was a breeze to rig the first time.

Got some results? In future, do backups from time to time. It saved me hours of work.
