It is not a HTML editor, RocketCake lets you design your website in the WYSIWYG editor and then generates HTML code from that.

But you can add your own HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP etc extensions to the website and each element. Just click the menu command "View -> HTML Code of the page" or right-click a specific element on the page and select "HTML Code".

Hope this helps!

Hi, I just purchased RocketCake 1.3 to get access to edit the html code. For example, I want to paste a few lines of custom HTML code in the middle of the page. However, it only lets me do this BEFORE a string of existing element code. And the "element" is the entire page! So I don't see any way to put code in the middle of a page, which is why I paid for the software!

If I make the website then enter the code after with another HTML editor, that works. But then I can't ever open the file in RocketCake again!

update: it DOES let you add HTML to the body if you go to View>show html. (Note that it doesnt give that option if you if you right click on a page and select "show HTML", only if you go to "VIEW")

HOWEVER, even with the View>show HTML option, when you select "Add to body", it only adds it to the very BEGINNING of the page, exactly after the </header>. It won't let you add it to the MIDDLE of a page. (And what's worse, whatever I add, doesn't seem to display when I add it like this via Rocket Cake...only if I get a 3rd party editor and add it in by hand)

help please!

OK, but I've entered some HTML on a page and now I need to delete / edit it. After choosing view html I can see the string I want to get rid of, but RocketCake won't allow me to delete it. Am I doing something wrong?

I would like to know this as well, the way I do it now is once I saved it as html or php I open it in notepad and edit it from there, but once i open in the software again to add more stuff to the page the edit is over written so have to do it again.

That's why it is better to use the RocketCake-Built-in features to extend your HTML code. You have these options:

- Click the menu command "View -> HTML Code of the page", to add CSS, Attributes or HTML to the head or beginning of the body

- Right-click a specific element on the page and select "HTML Code" to extend a specific element

- Add a HTML/PHP/JavaScript code element at any place in the page and edit that one to insert anywhere any code you like.

There is no built-in way for deleting some code generated by RocketCake, but usually, this shouldn't be necessary, because you can override anything. If you tell me the specific situtation where you want to change something, maybe I can help.

I have purchased the wrong product. I would like to copy and paste existing HTML into Rocket Cake (as described above) but then edit individual parts of the HTML.

When this didn't work in the trial version, I thought this was a restriction of the trial version, not that the functionality didn't exist at all.

No, that's not working like that, sorry. Maybe I'll add a FAQ for clearing this up a bit.
