Click the object, then select "move" in the transform panel.

I don't mean to move the object . I mean to move the object's pivot or origin. Not the whole object. Anyways i found the solution to this.

In post of just-in-case , niko had replied the solution ther.moving the geometry will solve this.

Workaround:

Ok, I had the same problem and found this post which was no help at all. I found a solution that works, not great but works.

It seems the bounding box of the geometry is the owner of the pivot so I was looking around and saw the polygon editing tools and had a thought about moving the vertices so I clicked the """polygon editing""" tab and checked """points""" the picked the """select (rect) and then selected all the points. after that I used the move tool in the polygon edit tab and moved the geometry to offset it from the bounding boxes pivot. You loose site of the pivot as you are working in polygon mode so it took a few adjustments but I was able to move the my door so the pivot was in the right position for my animation.

I hope that my """understanding""" of the question and this workaround kills any frustration that you might have experienced in this situation. These guys that program these application are wizards at 3d stuff but always seem to suck at user interfaces, importing models, or simple things such as moving the pivot.

There are a lot of really cool things about Coppercube that I love but they could use some help the people area (GUI) if they ever want to compete with the big boys.

My method is to set it up before importing the model, using 3damx or blender.

The solution has already been posted by either niko or me... As far as i remember.. Might be burried somewhere in these forums....

Or it might be possible that i was the person who asked this first in these forum...

Seems niko has told me to move the geometry thing..as aiming bullet mentioned...

But most of the time i use the below method to change pivot of an object...

So here is the simplest solution...

Create an empty mesh (with size zero) it can be any mesh sphere, cube or anything...
change its position to where you want your pivot point to be of the original object...

Then using the original object and the newly created object merge them into one...object.. Using the polygon toola...

As soon as they become one the pivot will be changed... You might find it tricky while selecting the object to merge...

But this works... As far as i remember i used the same method for the car mesh in my GTA Vice City example.....

Don't know what @Robo is going to show us in his video... Hope he shows a better way of doing this...

This video shows you how to create moving doors and adjust it's pivot point.

Its effectively the same way mentioned above yet has extra info because if you do it the wrong way it wont work...

Cheers.
