Hi Niko

In the future, would it be possible to rotate a 2D overlay please ?

Overlays are 2D. I guess it's impossible.

Depends how coppercube overlay has built and works it may be possible but does it have any use if it rotates i dont know.

I guess there's no urgent need for this @lucas007, but you could try a to camera parented 3D plane instead that can be easily rotated in CopperCube with or without scripting, just
make sure it has Transparent (alpha) Material (trans_alphach) with ZBuffer 0 (irrlicht Properties) set -> to make it render on top of anything else like a 2D overlay would do...

Errr... In the future I hope @niko can make us able to add to the coppercube API by defining some extra functions cos that'll help.

And also it would be really nice if we had access to override animated mesh's bones that is one thing I really wish coppercube had.

If you guys want something that can be rotated and always appear on the screen then you simply use planemeshes or billboards and can convert them into 3D overlays, with a lil bit of scripting.

Use the command
ccbGet3DPosFrom2DPos

and
ccbGet2DPosFrom3DPos
to set the position of the planemesh on the screen or in front of camera always, or you can create a dummy 2D overlay to get the 2D position and then set the position of 3D planemesh as per that dummy overlay.

@sulbcon, for the animation part I do wish the same, and I think it might be possible for @niko to develop something like that.

for the Dark theme, CopperCube uses WxWidgets as UI framework and it might not be possible for @niko to bring Dark Mode to CC and his other apps based on wxWidgets until the developer of wxWidgets bring dark mode to their framework itself. Hope that makes sense.

But can't @niko Change from wxWidgets to something else...

@sulbcon, I think I am not the right person to answer this question. @Niko should answer this by himself.

Rotate 2d objects of screen are NOT possible in Coppercube.
You have to fake it using billboards.

Err... Would it be possible for @niko to make the coppercube editor run on the coppercube engine to allow for plugins that work in realtime like behaviors work in runtime...
