I have inserted a HTML 5 Video frame in a multi-column container, specified BackgroundMode 'Image', BackgroundRepeat 'Cover area' and added a BackgroundImage link to a 400x276 pixel jpg image. This look fine in the designer, but when previewing the page, the background is just black. At load time it seems that the image shows up for about half a second. The video plays fine in preview. I haven't tried publishing the site. This is Rocketcake 4.6 free edition. Please advise. |

Just tried with just a gradient, that shows up black too. |

You mean the background for the video element? Shouldnt that show the video? |

That's likely because that's how the first frame of your video looks like. |

Testing with another video do indeed show the first video frame, so that other video could very well have a black frame at the front. However that leaves the question, what is the purpose of a background image, or background color for that matter? It seems to show just for the short time the video is loaded. |

Sometimes the video can also not be loaded, or takes longer to load (=slow connection) then this will be shown as well. But yes, its usefulness is limited, indeed. |
