Not sure if this is the right forum - but since we have web site builders here I might ask as well: I am building a small (commercial) website and want to also offer a newsletter. My hosting provider only offers Majordomo - which is a bit ancient - plus Majordomo actually implements mailing lists, so everybody could send to all subscribers (I don't want that). So I am wondering what you guys use as newsletter software? I have already implemented a double opt-in signup form in RC, but the actual newsletter back-end is missing... Any tips / suggestions? Most people use some paid service from the web today. Sending tons of emails correctly seems to get difficult today. I personally still wrote my own code for sending out newsletters. |

Some years ago, when I was working as a freelance IT support for a friend's business and website, we used MailChimp, a third party supplier. This worked pretty well an reliably. https://mailchimp.com |

Thanks for the replies so far. I'm afraid these days mailchimp is a no-go for anybody subject to GDPR due it being US based and recent EU court rulings. So far looks like I'm going to use pre-installed Majordomo. I had a second glance and its API is based on sending emails so should be doable with some PHP. I'll report back if successful... |
