Will there be an irrEdit 1.7 or is Coppercube the new irrEdit?

Currently the main focus is on CopperCube, yes, but I don't want to rule out the possibility that there will be a new irrEdit as well in the future.

With the latest coppercube-irrEdit installer, it says it has a 14 day trial, does this mean if I only want to use irrEdit, I will still have to purchase a license?

CopperCube stops working after 14 days, this also includes the exporter, yes. But I already thought about this and going to change this with the next release: All the irrEdit stuff will be no longer time limited from the next version on, makes more sense.

[thread-hijack-warning]
I made a plugin for irrEdit, in order to place my custom scene nodes. Compiled it against irrlicht 171, which i guess is why the plugin failed to load properly. Can i use plugins for irrEdit with CopperCube? Or should i compile the plugin against irrlicht 1.5 / the source that comes with irrEdit?

No, I'm sorry, irrEdit plugins won't work in copperCube. You need to use irrEdit then.
