Hi,

I am new to RocketCake but like it so far. I also purchased the full version to make use of including HTML code. But this now is exactly my issue. I am working on a signage site for our sailing club and obviously weather is pretty important for us. So all I wann do is to integrate an existing weather widget into my page with the "HTML-Code" functionality.

RocketCake also lets me include the HTML-Code but it then just doesnt show the nice little widget but only a grey box with the link to the weather site. Thats actually not what I wanted (obviously). I played around with different version, even isolating the javascript code and put it in the "Javascript-Code" tool. Also including/excluding "generate code around div" has no effect. Nothing works.

What am I doing wrong? The code itself works perfectly fine when I e.g. include it in a wordpress or even on our standard-website.

The forum here doesnt let me post the code as it thinks it is spam, but its essentially code generated from here https://www.wetter.com/apps_und_...

Any help is highly appreciated, as this functionality was the main reason for me to buy the full version.

Thanks a lot in advance,
Marcel

Didn't try out the code, but did you click "preview"? It won't show up directly in the editor, but in the generated website.

If it still doesn't, does your javascript console in the browser show an error?

Just tried it out, and that weather widget really doesn't work if you just paste that code, but it works when you run your site from a real webserver. It's a strange widget, but try uploading your page to a server, then it will work.

Thank you guys!

@erik: yes, I do use the preview function but to no avail. :(

@niko: I do run my webpage on a raspberry pi with a nginx webserver running. So if you will this is a "real webserver". Not sure what exactly the issue is? Any further ideas on how I can get it to run on my server?

Any help appreciated....

Yes, if I run it from the preview, it loads endlessly and shows after a minute the text "Wetter berlin" - but when run from a webserver - even a local one on my PC, it will show the widget with the weather. So I guess your solution should also work there (but I use an Apache)

You can also send me the .rcd file and I'll check if anything is missing or wrong in your website. (See on this website support -> contact, on the bottom there is also an email address printed there)

As said - I do run it on my webserver but it doesnt show anything. When I run the exact same code on the exact same raspberry on the exact same nginx server but in a wordpress environment, it works like a charme.

But nevermind - I now have used a another widget from another provider. Not 100% what I was looking for but it does the job. And - it does run perfectly in my environment. No idea whats wrong with the other widget.

Thanks in any case!
