project now always close RC when I have finished working on a project because an open file was irreparably corrupted when the PC crashed losing hours of work. I've increased the frequency of volume shadow copies in windows 11 so at most I only lose 30 minutes work. That's a worthwhile thing for people to do. I think it would be very useful to have in settings the option to open the last file when starting instead of closing the blank project then having to go to recent files. Not a deal breaker but would assist immensely. |

When i get home i must try with the filename and path as a parameter in a shortcut. Not hopeful but it might work ... |

After about 50 minutes I managed to create a shortcut on the taskbar to open the file. I also changed the icon to differentiate it from the rocketcake program which is on the task bar. Ot saves having to open file manager, traverse 4 directories and then click on the file. Saves me from frowning ???? |

Saves me from frowning ???? Not really  What if you work on more than just one project? Will you create a shortcut + parameter for each, and bloat your taskbar? |

If your using windows just pin the RC program icon in the the taskbar from windows start and right click on it. It can't be any simpler. |

I think it would be very useful to have in settings the option to open the last file when starting I haven't used RocketCake for a while. So I just made a quick check (v5.5). And there is such an option. -> open RocketCake -> click "File" in the top menu -> select "Open Recent File" to display the list of recent files)* -> pick the most recent one (the one on top of the list) )* Alternativly, if you click "Open" in the icon bar, RC automatically opens the path to the most recently edited project. But again, double-clicking the project file in the file manager is (to me) the easiest and fastest way to open the project I want - and it skips the annoying templates splash screen which unfortunately can't be disabled. |

This works for any program you want to open in one click. Click on the windows icon at the far left of the task bar. A window will open listing all of your programs and apps. Scroll down to the RC 5.5 folder and click on it. A drop down will open showing RC 5.5, right click on it. A large window will open. On the second line from the top will be "more". Hover or click on that and another window will open. Chose "pin to taskbar". Icon will show in the taskbar. One left click will open the program.(any program using the same procedure) One right click will open a window showing recent RC files that were saved. (mine shows 14) Your choice from here. Click on a file and RC and website will open. (You can also drag and drop from there to create a desktop short cut.) Have a great weekend!

My RC 5.5 only shows 5 recent files regardless of how many I may have opened. I would like for ALL files to show. Wish that could be added or a way found to change the default settings to show all or at least the last 10, etc. wrote:
