Hello, I'm in trouble: two of the folders of my RocketCake website have disappeared, along with the html pages inside them! (I mean, the folders inside which I can navigate within the RocketCake interface.) Now, I do have backups: - one from 10/23, has all the folders except the latest; - one from 10/27 has all the folders except the oldest one, and the latest folder is not up to date. I need advice as to how to, sort of, merge the suitable backup with the most recent file (or conversely): how can I do that cleanly, since RocketCake is single-document? Furthermore, there's something weird: the latest .rcd file is the bigger, as if the folders and html pages were actually there, but somehow "disconnected" from the RocketCake interface. If the .rcd file is corrupt, maybe there's a way to repair it, and get my folders and files displayed again? I'm under MacOS with RocketCake 5.5. I'm not rushing anything... You can just open a second instance of RocketCake and copy and paste between them. |

Yes, thank you Erik. ... It's just that I didn't know how to force a second instance. I have found that a small command line was necessary. Now, with both backups, I was able to recover most of the content (except some formatting that got lost). Still, I wonder what I could have done wrong (and why the .rcd file had the same weight with 2 folders missing)? I'd rather not do that again! |

Difficult to say, maybe something wrote over your file or something went wrong while saving? You can send me the file and I can try to repair it or try to find out what's wrong. See support -> contact on this website, there is also en email address printed on the bottom of that page. |

Well, it's more silly than that, I fear... Yesterday while I was "restoring", I noticed another html page missing. Yet the links to it were not broken, and it enabled me to locate it: it had just slipped into a wrong folder (bad mouse move?) So I turned back to my "faulty" .rcd file. And I found the "missing" folders _inside_ other ones. So... everything was there --only hidden in wrong places! So, my fault entirely. I'm sorry for bothering you both. But we can be reassured that there's nothing wrong with RocketCake. |
