I'm trying to get the search plugin to work properly and finding a few issues with it.

The current one - if I have pages in my project that are organised into folders, and if those folders have a space in the name, the search engine seems to index and display the pages properly, but when I try to click the link, it throws a 404 error and seems to be substituting "%20" for the space in the URL.

For now I'll go through and remove the spaces and see if that fixes it. But it is something that could maybe be fixed, or a warning issued?

Hm, how are you creating spaces in your folders? In RocketCake, usually spaces are substituted using underscores "_", so it shouldn't work anyway?

Windows 11, RocketCake 5.5.

In the Document pane, right click on your .rcd file, choose "Add Folder".

In properties, click on Name.

Type in a string with spaces, and it accepts and uses it.

At least, at my end. I can send screenshots if you cannot reproduce this behaviour.

Ah, I see, you are right. That appears to be a bug: When publishing the folder, it will then write the folder out with underscores instead of spaces, so everything should work again. Also when linking pages in that folder.
It's not supposed to be able to contain spaces, unfortunately. Best would be to replace the spaces with underscores, then the search should also work.

Yes, up until the search function was added, it worked fine. Links to pages in those folders were totally okay. It was only the search function that couldn't handle the spaces in the menus. Maybe you can have it so it automagically swaps an underscore in for a space when someone tries to type one in the name field? While I agree that just not using spaces works, you might want to future-proof the issue for future users who might not realise this?

I'll try if this is possible, but the bigger problem is likely rocketcake generating the "index" for the search engine without those spaces, but let's see.
