Why is free-floating text swallowed by a table/-cell and is not visible in the preview or the Element Browser?

After playing a bit around, I see what you mean. If you drag a text like that into a table cell, it won't appear in the HTML and also not in the element browser.
Seems to be a side effect - it just doesn't belong there. You can still select it by dragging a rectangle with the mouse and then just delete it.
Thanks for reporting, will likely change it in a future update so that you cannot embedd it into a table cell - or maybe another solution, let's see.
