I worked on my site last night and created all of the pages and finished half of what I wanted to do to them. I saved them all to my hard drive and the html files are there but unfortunately my computer rebooted overnight and I hadn't saved the actual project and RocketCake will allow me to open only the .rcd file for a project. Is there any way to open the html files and save the project? If not I suppose that I will start over again but I'd rather not redo everything I had done if I can avoid it. Thank you! |

Without your .rcd project file that will be difficult unfortunately. But if you can wait about a week: The next update will have a feature with which it will be likely that you can restore your project from .html files. |

Thank you! I appreciate information. I expected that it couldn't be done at this time as I saw no relevant option. But either way I will upgrade to the new version when it is available. I know that my case is quite specific and I am glad that I published the html files for all of my pages before I took my break during which my computer rebooted. Granted, I should have saved the actual project beforehand. And quite honestly I really could finish the majority of what I wanted however some of my pages will have features that will be far easier and faster for me to complete with some original and add-on extensions. I primarily use RocketCake as my decades of experience with web design/development make me proficient in everything but Responsiveness. I do have other things I can work on until the next update drops but even if I continue working on the html files in the meantime it would be very helpful for the feature (to open separate html files and then save the project file) to be handy so I can come back to it and add the parts that will require extensions. Thanks again! |

In case anyone ever stumbles upon this thread: RocketCake 7 does allow you to open individual html files via File->Import->Import HTML Page and then save it to your .rcd project file. Or in my case...creating an .rcd file by saving the project for the first time with all relevant .html files open. Very simple and very quick although it took me a little longer as it seems that you can import only one .html file at a time so you have to go through the process for each .html file but was still FAR easier and quicker than recreating my design from scratch. I praise the Lord that an update was coming with the very feature (brand new feature I might add) that I needed...within a week. |
