Flash background remains black

I thought that I saw this topic posted before but could not find it...

I have inserted a Flash object (.swf) on my page, selected "BackgroundImage"...inserted my graphic (brushed steel),
WindowMode is "transparent" but yet when I review my page the
surrounding Flash image background remains black. I have "refreshed"
(command + R) the page with no change.

By the way...when I originally inserted the background image,
it DOES correctly show up on my Flash object...just not my published
page.

Also, I checked the files when I published my page to disk, and
all of the image files, .swf files, etc. are where they should be.
I even tried the "Gradient" selection with the same results.

Sorry if this has been posted before and I am overlooking it.

Thanks for your help,
Ted

You are right, this is a bug in WebsitePainter, thanks for reporting. As workaround, you could embedd your flash using a HTML code element and code like this:

<object width="512" height="420">
<embed src="transparent.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"
allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"
width="512" height="420" wmode="transparent">
</embed>
</object>

Thanks for the quick response!

I tried that and after a bit of experimentation, it worked very well.

One thing though, I am not seeing the Flash object on my work page,
but it is showing up quite nicely on my published page.

It does not show up on my Element Browser either.

Am I missing something?

Thanks again,
Ted

You mean it's not shown in WebsitePainter itself? That's ok, WebsitePainter doesn't load the Flash Plugin. If it doesn't show up locally in the preview, this might be because of the security settings of your browser. In the Element browser, it should show up as 'HTML Element' anyway. Doesn't it? Be sure to have the correct site focused.

Thanks...and yes when I test it locally it does show up.
So all is well...just let us know when this bug is fixed!
