Just tried it outmyself with chrome, looks like the canvas element is printed empty if you use the browser 'print page' feature, I guess this is what you mean, right? Not sure how to do that if the browser doesn't support this.

Don't think so, you have only Safari, Firefox and Chrome to select from currently anyway.
