Why does an image aligned on my web page show up differently after I publish it?

Depends on your specific case. Can you give some more details?

When I created the page every image was lined up in the center.
But after it was published, an image and a text are off centered. Also I viewed the page from other computers and they all show the page differently, not centered.

You are right, in some browsers it is centered (Opera for example) in others, it's not. Maybe you could send me the .wspd file (See Company -> contact, there is an email adress) and I'll have a look at this.

I have found it hard to make things compatible across all browsers, internet explorer being the worst. You might find things easier putting them all into one layout container so that at least they are all aligned together.
In Safari I can see the guitar picture in the middle centered, but the logo at the top isn't. Also the picture says 'gallery' twice above the guitar. I think the second one is supposed to be a different thing, but it might also be worth making it a picture with clickable links on the two galleries.
