I guess it's not Painter's fault ... it's just that when you arrange things on a page to the exact pixel then slight rendering differences start to appear. I have a text box where Arial text fits exactly right in Firefox PC, Internet Explorer, Safari OSX ... when I browse in Firefox OSX the text is just slightly bolder and it wraps a bit longer and is cut off at the bottom of the box. In the past my text box would expand and I didn't notice. Now I'm going insane over it. On most browsers I have to leave an ugly gap. Checking over at Mozilla there seems to be some acknowledgment about the different ways that the browsers will interpret weight and Firefox is making text slightly bolder. Of course the Mozilla fans think everyone else is wrong. I'm worried about installing Chrome in case I find out it's doing some other horrible thing. BTW is there a way to use Google Web Fonts? Anyone tried this? |

Happens all the time, that's just how web development works. Simply always make the text fields a big bigger just to be sure. Once you fix this for firefox, you'll see that it will look a bit different again for a browser on a tablet or cell phone.. |
