Tangent buffer

I'm looking into implementing normal mapping but can't seem to find anywhere I can add a tangent vector to a vertex along with the normal and texture coordinates. Am I missing something or do I need to implement this myself?

Currently, there is no support for tangents, unfortunately. So I think this might be possible implementing it yourself, but I don't think it would be easy.
