Hello, I'm very interested in licensing irrKlang for my game. I have some simple questions about it, that I can't find anywhere on the forum just yet. How are mono and stereo sounds processed in 3d? Can I use 5.1 surround sound instead of 3d? If so, can I play Flac's 4 channel, two front two back audio? - This is for cool atmospheres with open landscape recordings. Thanks, Dave |

If you are using the DirectSound driver in irrKlang which is the default on Windows, and use the play3D() functions, then sound should be played in 3D based on the setting of your sound hardware, maybe also in 5.1 if it is set to it. 4 channel audio files are not used/supported here, irrklang is more about games: Playing one mono/stereo sound at a certain virtual 3d position. |
