I just wish v4 had terrain creation options. It's the only thing really missing from Cobbercube!

Mike

If you get into modeling Animated mesh there is a decent Terrain generator in the Milkshape 3d modeler app that works well with Coppercube.. Ita got a lot of features that make it a good compliment.

Niko,

Before I commit a bunch of money to upgrade to v4, what ELSE is on the to do list for this version (before v5)?

How long will it be till v5? Do you release version upgrades every year, every few years?

Does Coppercube support fog? Does it support liquids?

Thanks in advance.

Mike

Hi Mike,
Not to answer for Amberia, but here is my experience:

CopperCube4 does support fog, with the new particle engine. However I did accomplish this and many of these type features could be done in the earlier version too. It may not be perfect however for fog liquids and other effects can be achieved, see Volcano Rescue animation demo at http://farmpeeps.com/Volcano_Res...

CC3 is updated often and if you scan the threads here, you will see how the user feature requests seem to consistently make it in the program, often as a "maintenance" update in in the same version. I think this is IrrLicht blog http://www.irrlicht3d.org which Nico shares his visions. The release notes in the download section of the site show how CC 3 maintenance updates often add features in addition to fixing anything that needs a fix.

If your development budget is tight, consider exhausting the features of the standard version before upgrading to pro. Usually only pro is needed if you want to publish without CC3 branding in the published code. You can do a LOT in 10 scenes with some creative thinking. That volcano rescue is only 1 scene. Pro and regular versions are transparent in terms of CCB compatibility.

Ah no sorry, I spoke too soon.
The fps mouse bug is still not corrected in flash version.
Perhaps in CopperCube 5 ?

Smook + Fire look nice. Pity I have no android.

Can we now generate a random value ?
if not, I wait with the update, because this is a important feature for me.

There is now a way to set any object to a random position, in the change position action.

cyril: What bug do you mean?

Try a First Person Shooter style controlled.
When you move the mouse, your look change:

- In Windows version : the look change only when the mouse move(it's good)
- In Flash version : the look change everytime. The only solution is to click on LookOnlyWhenMouseDown (but unacceptable for a fps game)

Why this difference between Windows and Flash compilation?
To create real fps games, this bug must be corrected !
I have already mentioned several times, but apparently this bug is considered as minor...

That's because in flash and webgl, it is not possible. This feature is called 'locking the mouse', and only possible in native apps. This is probably because its considered a security problem, if a website or flash app is able to move the mouse position. (Moving the mouse cursor programmatically is necessary for this feature to work)

So that's why the flash and webgl targets do something at least very close to what is possible in a windows .exe app.

But wait, there is more: Adobe and some browsers recently have introduced a possibility to lock the mouse anyway. For this, there are several restrictions (like the browser has to ask the user for permission frst, or only when the app runs in fullscreen mode, and also asked for permission first). Maybe copperCube could be extended to support this, but then its definitely then not a nice user experience.

Random position was not my question.

But I conclude there is no random value.
I do not understand why?

is it possible to create a rotating emergency light where you can see the light rays (like on a police car)?
