Story
A third person retro shooter/adventure taking place across several worlds. You play as Luna a new Guardian recruit just out of the academy. You travel across the galaxy in her personal ship liberating worlds from the swarms of the Xhomic Empire. Meeting new species and allies along the way.

About
The Fifth Generation of Consoles were defiantly my favorite, with the n64 being my all time favorite nostalgic memory. And honestly what I think of when I think video game art. Playing around with this new engine prompted me to try to build something new that brings me back to the Low poly, pix-elated textures, colorful worlds, and cheesy 90's dialogue that made me fall into games.

I was able to do some cool things like gun recoil, walking that effects aim, getting hit makes character flinch and effects aim. A unique universe map that allows you to travel from planet to planet, and even encounter pirate ships. Also currently game has 9 worlds 5 weapons a dozen enemy unique types, npc's, vehicle maps, 8 boss battles, bonus minigames, unlock-able content, and cinematic elements. Much More to come.

For PC (Released) and OSX (Coming soon).

It takes a lot of playing around, but whats going on is that i have a FPS Camera with the character node parented to it. I had to play around with the models placement, and limiting the max vertical angle to prevent it from looking funny. Waist height or higher is better. Shoulder height works the best if you want more vertical rotation.

Also for the "Collide when moved" behavior is attached to the camera, and requires a big x,z radius to account for the character being in front of the camera. It takes a lot of fiddling to be big enough to not clip through the wall, but does not limit movement in tight spaces.

Then using keyboard presses I set a variable called "animation" to some number states 0=idle 1=run 2=shoot, etc. Then every few seconds (use a small number like 50) I assign an animation to the character based on the variable animation.

Then fun stuff like movement aim sway and gun recoil can be done by using timers and rotating the character model slightly.

The crosshairs are a 3d node parented to the character node to show how the aim is effected. by sway/recoil.

That's the basics of what I did. It was a lot of trial and error.

hey ishmaru, really nice project... love the cam :D

just one tip regarding the crosshair, you could make it as a part of the 3rdperson/fps model itself.

Just add a floating bone somewhere on the right side of your model and
parent the crosshair mesh to it or if you want a dynamic crosshair you could add some child bones to it and scale the crosshair when running/walking... this way you would get a 3d dynamic crosshair.
Anyways, love the look, love the sound
thumbs up!

Finally had some free time to work on this. Spent the past three weeks bugfixing and improving the game. The core game is complete, now I'm just fixing minor bugs and tweaking for gameplay. Come, check out the progress!

Great work! Remember testing it for about 3 or 4 hours :)
When will it be available? And where? Going to link/tweet/blog this, should I link the gamejolt page, or something else? (your itch.io page doesn't work, btw)

ishmaru, you shared this link, but it leads to a "404 page not found" page:
https://ishmaru.itch.io/luna64

This link works, but it contains the wrong link to your studio's website:
https://ishmaru.itch.io/

That page shows this:
http://www.krazyketgames.com/

But your real page is here:
http://www.krazykeetgames.com/

I hope you finish this glorious game! I feel inspired by it! I checked http://www.krazykeetgames.com/ and http://www.adriandelpha.com/ and now I know you're smarter than I'll ever be!
