Can I import animations from another character in Coppercube?

I have an asset with around 30 animations that I painstakingly set up in Coppercube - works great.

I brought in another version that is slightly different from asset 1, but utilizes the exact same animations.

Can I copy and paste or export/import the animations into asset 2?

Thank you.

If your 3D model has same armature and same frames of animation and you had previously turn one single animation into 30 diffrent animayion actions inside coppercube.... and now you wanted to use the nee model with all of those 30 actions precreated so that now you don't have to create those actions again....

If you want to replace the old model with the new one then simply change your new 3d model name same as previous one and put it in the same directory as of your old model...and then use the reload mesh button from coppercube....this will let u use all the previously created animation action with the new model...

If you don't want to replace new model and want to have both models... Then simply clone the old model and do the same thing as we have done above....

Hope it worka for you.

I can't help but notice that these requests were for coppercube 3. We are now 3 full versions ahead and some of the most important requests have not been answered.

Niko, you need programming help, bud.

OK, I have TRIED to replace the model with another one, but there is no browse button to do so in the properties.

So, say I have a gremlin 3d character with all animations intact.

I have two other gremlin assets that are different, but the rig is the same and the animations are exactly the same as the 1st one already worked on in coppercube.

I import the other two and they are freaking out while all animations play.

Now what?

Can I create a prefab of the 1st gremlin? How? If I can create a prefab, then how do I replace the model of the prefab I newly dragged into the scene?

If that's not how to do it, do I CLONE the gremlin asset? How do I change the model to one of the other gremlin assets?

It's very unclear how to do this?

Thanks for your help.

Just right click your prefab on the scenegraph explorer and then click on modify... Choose reload mesh from disk... And it will be reloaded with the new model but with all the behaviours and properties will stay there... So animations will also stay there...

I have tried it before and it always works for me...
