I brought in a large asset with multiple textures and two of them have texture atlases with alpha channel transparency. When I set these to alpha channel transparency, everything looks fine at first, but then weird transparency problems occur - it looks like normals are pointing the wrong way. I tried to fix the normals by right clicking and choosing the flip direction of all faces but that did not work. I don't see a way to specifically make a texture double sided, which could fix the problem. This is NOT my asset - I just bought it off the Unity store. It only has four textures total for the entire asset, which is pretty amazing. Two of them do not require any transparency and work fine, but the other two do and are causing weird optical illusions. Any suggestions? Mike |

Sometimes using alpha transparency for plants and grass option... For the texture solves this... Give this a shot...can't promise if it will work or not.. |

Not sure I follow. I chose transparency with Alpha as the type of texture and I get some weird normals - things behind appearing in front - all very optical illusion-ish. Double sided textures would likely solve this (in other engines it does). Please expound on your answer above so I understand what you are telling me to do. Thanks. Mike |

Here is a screen grab: The red arrows point to one of the location where you can 'see through' the front of the asset and see the back of the asset. It is far more obvious when moving, but you can see if you look. Mike |

Here are a series of screenshots that may show the problem better (but taking a video would be the best - but a real pain int he tush to do. You'll notice the background of the asset goes 'through' the stairs. Again, a video would make this obvious. I may have to shoot one. Mike |

Are all of your textures on your asset set to "Transparent - Alpha Channel"? Not all - just the ones that actually have alpha channel transparency. Mike |

This is one stubborn asset - I attempted the double-sided fix on both transparent textures - did not work. It did work for other things, but not the above asset. Is there anything else I can try or do I dump this asset? Mike |

strange nver encountered this typr of problem... as i have said earlier try using for plants and grass rendering with double sided material enabled... (no alpha blending, render order independent) that may solve this.. you can find these in advanced material setting or you can use irredit properties window and try other material settings from there.. |
