You would think that the first and third person controllers would have a footstep sound variable built in, but nope. Problem is that the footstep script is no way in sync with footsteps - no matter how good you guess the time interval and footstep length (stride). How do you guys get perfect synced footsteps with your characters. I do have a ogg sound that is edited to start instantly. Mike |

How does everyone else do it? Surely people use footstep sfx for FPS and TPP games in Coppercube, no? The only thing I see is that script and it is not in sync AT ALL no matter what values you put in there. Mike |

Good question! The footstep script is very basic. If I were to ever get around to creating my own script I would start by... a) detect whether or not player is touching ground b) detect whether or not move key is pressed c) detect whether or not player is motion d) detect what type of ground "zone" the player is in... something like that... could get more complicated though... |
