Normal maps for lightmapped scenes?

Oh gosh this would be neat. I have a building and the lighting is nice, but the darn brick walls and stuff look very flat! I want normal maps, but as you know, lightmapped scenes can't use them. Can this be changed so it can be done? Same with animated meshes. It'd be nice to have these 2 features before the D3D11 renderer gets out!
