CCB File Corrupted

Hello there everyone, I am new to the forums. I have been using CopperCube for around a month.

I have created a game with 5 scenes. So today, when I was remaking the first scene, some error popped up, I clicked Retry, it kept popping up, so I saved the file and then clicked on Abort, it closed. When I opened the .ccb again, the scene was there where I last saved, finished the scene, I noticed some stuff missing, the trees that generated with the terrain have disappeared, I deleted the invisible models anyway. Then I tested the game, the first scene was perfect, when I clicked on the button to move to Scene 2, my soldier model disappeared (I was making a Third Person game), so I was running around like in first person, and saw that a lot of models disappeared, got their lighting set to Static instead of Dynamic like how I set them to, or their textures became pitch black, that happened with every scene after Scene 1.

I want to ask the forums for a fix to this, any help is appreciated, thanks a lot!

Interesting... I've heard that CCB files can corrupt like this. If I recall correctly, just_in_case ,a fellow user here, had a file which got wiped entirely and turned into a 0 KB file...

This is why I'm doing my game in a specific manner: I'm doing each level (scene) in different project files and, at the end, I will merge all of them into a new file when it's all done. then it'll all come together!

That's a good way to work on a game. But I hope there's still a solution to this problem.

Afaik, You need to reload all the textures.... Thats the only possible way i think.... It happens mostly when you have created your scene but before saving it, you have deleted the original folder from the computer where all the textures resides.... And then save the project...and on reloading project it will open up with corrupted textures...

This not usually happens but sometimes this happens...
So you have to reload all the textures manually...

Thanks. But what about the models that literally went invisible? Their Materials Tab is also empty, empty in literally empty and does not leave a texture box or anything, I guess I'll have to re-add them.

You know what you might be able to do for the animated characters with behaviors is this:

Import the meshes again and then copy the behaviors from the old invisible versions to the new ones (this is an option in the editor - right click on a node and it'll be there somewhere)

I have given up on Coppercube. Was working on two projects and both were ruined as no fault of my own. I simply saved the projects and the next time I loaded them in, my prefab main character was gone and tons of things went missing. Whole levels moved in space and were not where I saved them.

This did not happen once. It happened time after time - I must have recreated both games 15 times and every time, at some random point, something bad happened to one or more levels in both games.

At what point do you continue? I refuse to waste one more minute with CC.

All in all, CC is just not ready to create a actual game with.

I've 100% given up.

Mike

I'm very scared of this happening to me now that I've heard many people report this. I'll be creating 7Z files with my directories daily and putting them on MEGA now that i've heard this from many people

well, this usually don't occurs..... but having backup every time you save your project is a good practice.....
Or what you can do is create levels separately in different ccb files and then join them by into a one large file by importing the levels as ccb prefabs....

Yes, I'm doing that! :) I have all of my levels in separate project files and, when all of them are done (over 20... possibly over 30 and close to 40) they'll all go into a "base" project file and I'll make a frontend (main menu) and bam.

I can only suggest sending the CCB to Niko and see if he can figure out why it's doing that
