I added some ambient occlusion to a level and thought I could import the Blend file... nope. It sadly crashed! Perhaps this could be added as a supported feature. that, or possibly make the blend importer ignore the AO for now

Blend file didn't work for me also but you can use B3D format:

B3D exporter:
http://www.rtsoft.com/forums/sho...

I'm using Blender version 2.79, exporter will probably work on other versions too but this one is the one I'm using:

blender 2006 ? nobody calls it that this is blender 2.42 maximum, are you a computer archeolog?

can that do ambient occlusion?
is the blender fileformat not to outdated ?
for coppercube blend file implementation ?

but nice lightweigt application on modern hardware
for your use case blender 2.69 is much better moderner application and also very light on system.

you didn't mention graphics card. Does it support OpenGL 3.0?

My system windows 7 32bit. Maybe the issue ? My graphic works with OpenGL 4.2
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=1539-TDHL-6192&l=english

NVIDIA releases OpenGL 4.2 drivers
NVIDIA is proud to announce the immediate availability of OpenGL 4.2 drivers for Windows and Linux.

can you select different render system in blender settings ?

https://blenderartists.org/t/opengl-rendering-error-with-cycles/544394/4
So it seems that it has nothing to do with the driver at all. It’s a Windows thing. He told the problem was the TDR time limit (a value in one of the registry for the graphics card), which is by default 2 sec and not enough for blender to render if you have a big scene an many polygons and so on. So he disabled it. In this forum they describe how to change the TDR Value: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/51028-help-me-configure-registry-correctly-solve-tdr-issue.html

The other day I was contacted out of the blue by Andrea Rugliancich with a working BVH Motion Capture exporter for blender 2.49.
