so its logical for me if Niko needs a little more profit to make a high-end game engine..

we're running in circles..

keywords "high-end game engine"

is that the case right now with 6? a big NOOOOOO

wake up and smell the friggin coffee

hey.. theres nothing impossible, right..?
last update for CopperCube 6 is 7 September 2018
and maybe Niko's preparing something big for next update..
and whatever you say.. i will always use CopperCube even if there's a one click game engine for free.. I will prove you CopperCube is brilliant..
frigging coffee..? No! Green tea milk is better..!

I will prove you CopperCube is brilliant..

yeah right.. false hope is even sadder.

and the saddest part is you're not the one who's doing it.

And the more saddest part is when you think you're right but someone prove that you're wrong. that's also embarrassing

CC is not a AAA engine, for sure, but I think it has it's niche and it fills it nicely. For people who want to make games without programming, it does well with that. Is it flawed? Yes, for sure. The tech is a bit old, but at the same time, you can get very pretty results if you really work at it and use the built-in global illumination (not shadows, diffuse, or white).

I hope that by version 7 we will have full-blown PBR!

I can agree with that except for that built-in global illum stuff. that's non-existent.

@mutan
see at least someone one knows whats the real deal here

Well, it takes a lot of work. Otherwise, you can get some nice results. The one thing, however, which brings it all down is the lack of character shadows combined with lightmapped meshes... I do want to see the program succeed, but I can agree that some upgrades need to be done before it can be used for serious projects.

I think if someone really wanted to, they could get some nice visuals in CC if they could make shaders (as you may know, CC 5 and up can use shaders via scripting).

A small feature which would actually help a lot is normalmaps on both animated meshes and also lightmapped meshes (to give rocks and other stuff more definition).

Finally someone "Understand" what i mean.. Thank god.
I've used global illumination. I've also created phong shader [Still WIP], Normal map for animated, and mirror.. That's why i said CopperCube is not that bad, and it's brilliant.. For me, game developing without programming is just for a lazy person. because if you want to get better result, you have to try harder..

And you @kikanaito i dont care with your opinion, makes me headache. go with your choice and leave me with my choice. I will always be a CopperCube's Fans, no matter what..

Personally, you shouldn't attack him for having a different opinion from us. That would be censorship, and that's never a good thing. If anything, him and I are just being critical of the application and it's future.

it's a fact, not an opinion.

this is the point and makes it more than a fact. it's a mediocre engine. to say its a "high end" makes no sense.

with that being said, who's attacking who?

oh wait.. you're the thread starter with that walking dead title,

facts are piling up. nuff said

that someone says "It's Dead Here". take a hint

tokyo olympics will come and go and for sure don't expect any PBR.

the engine can't even do normal maps on animated meshes.. you already said it

*smh*

I apologized before if there was a wrong word from me. but at first I just wanted to express my opinion about CopperCube, and hope you do the same thing ... If you feel copperCube is not too satisfying, you can provide a solution for Niko without any insults that arise from the typing of your fingers.

No, if you want to do the game by coding than there are many more advanced game engines. Unity would be my first choice if I want to extensively mess around with scripting.

The point of CC is that you can make a game with very little to no coding at all. It's even in the greeting of the CCs main page :)
"CopperCube is the most easy to use 3D game engine."
...and it is. Only simpler (usable for commercial projects) engine I found was Cyberix3D but it uses Flash technology that's now retired.

CopperCube is a very nice engine & it has many missing features but it does what it's meant to do: it let's you create a game super-fast, you can do it with almost no coding, the game is small in mbs and you can export to desk, web & mob with 3 clicks :)

You can't do that with more complex, program-oriented, heavy engines :)
