I really doubt that niko would make coppercube free. Coppercube is a niche game engine.

Extremely easy to use, easier then any other engine on the market... Trust me I know.

It is also better then a many engines out there.

It is my number one engine of choice, simply because you can create things so quickly with it.

My only problem with the engine is that I feel like I am continuously hitting the sealing with it.

But even the JavaScript API is super easy to use.

So I will stick with CC as my number one game engine...

However, I am using 001 game engine for 2D multiplayer games. It is super complex compared to CC...But, it is really nice for networked 2D games.

Yes, this was my point also, with CC people can make a game in a very short time and it's, as the CCs main page advertizes, "the most easy to use 3D game engine.".

I did work with one simpler engine, Cyberix3D, but it uses Flash technology that's now retired so it's generally useless at this point.

There are many, MANY, free 3D engines out there but those that are simple to use are also very restrictive in areas of graphics & code-customization. Also it publishes in two clicks to desk, mob & web which is very rare for free engines. CC is a good engine & it does what it's meant to do.

You can't create 'Wolfenstein: The New Order' with it but you CAN create something similar to 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' :)

CopperCube is a complete 3D authoring tool which includes all the features you need for creating games for multiple platforms. And it is light-weight: The whole editor including everything just needs about 70 MB, and your finished created game is just one small .exe file. Or a just 200 KB sized .
