Hey guys I just made a demo for my upcoming horror project. http://smnmhmdy.itch.io/dim-demo What do you think of it? |

This is one great demo, I loved it! It reminded me a bit of 'Nosferatu: the Wrath of Malachi' & also 'Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth'. Here are a few of my pros/cons: Pros: - Very atmospheric surroundings, - Great soundscape, music track in this level would be redundant, - Appropriate font, - Good, functional use of physics, - Sense of dramatic-timing when it comes to events & sounds. Cons: - The screen noise is good but it seems to be too slow (at least on my laptop), - It would have been better if player's hand & cross were a 3D model, - The chains are a bit off, not because they are 2D but maybe you could use a different texture and not animate them in this way (I'm guessing you used Moved by Wind). Btw I couldn't enter the room with water, how do I get in? There is a hole between wooden planks in a wall next to the doors but I couldn't get near it :) |

Thank you for playing it! look for the ball at the beginning of the game, then after you pumped into the locked door in the hallway (and the radio began to work), head back to the first room and again search for the ball (it's behind the big boxes now), then push it where it originally was, then the locked door will fall down! And about your pros and cons list, that's so awesome, i really appreciate that! :) I worked on musics and sounds exclusively for this game so they can fit perfectly within the environment, glad it worked! :) - I actually used a 3d plane object as an overlay in front of the camera and then animated its texture. I should probably increase its animating speed. - I was inspired by old 90's games like doom and decided to go with 2d sprite as a player character appearance, so that was kind of intentional. - Yeah i used Moved by wind! I should definitely work on that one! |

It worked, I've moved the ball & the passage was opened :) As i said before, the game has a good sense of dramatic-timing, I liked the second appearing of the ghost in the doorway and complete blackout because of the generator malfunction. Also the final event was great. Good demo, wish it was a big longer :) |

Scarryyyy! Boooo! Loved it. Great work! |

...I know it's off-topic and I'm sorry but I just realized that your demo didn't trigger my antivirus (AVG) when I played it. How is this possible? Did you do something with the file after publishing? |
||||
|
No, It's weird to hear because mine doesn't get triggered by CC games or the engine itself at all. |

Splendid! I can see you put a lot of effort in this game. Its really a good game. |
