Antivirus warnings and can they be fixed

I have AVG (free version) on my Win & have placed all CC folders in antivirus exceptions so I haven't had any warnings for a long time now.

Yesterday I have published an exe and went to my friend's house to try the export on his computer. I completely forgot about the antivirus issue and when I started the game the warning appeared. Since I completely forgot about it I was as shocked as I was the first time I've seen it :(

This could be a big problem, 99% of the people that should play my game will probably shut it down immediately when any virus warning appears.

However some games do not trigger AVG, Smnmhmdy's demo at Announcements and Showcase page (https://www.ambiera.com/forum.ph...) didn't. I've left a message there (I know it's a di*k move because it's a showcase page, not a help page) but I guess he didn't see it. Also downloading and starting Rolevix Cetetorius: Conquest - TechDemo went without any problems (https://www.ambiera.com/forum.ph...).

How is this possible? Is there any workaround that I'm not aware of that can fix this?

AVG seems to be pretty bad, I've had it "detect" viruses in a lot of normal software before on customers systems.

Depends on how AVG is doing it. I guess if a few people play the game, AVG notices that and won't warn anymore. But it's just a guess.

@niko was right. AVG is a bit weird.. X(
I suggest you to use Malwarebytes.
It's not only protect you from malwares, it protects you from rootkits, trojans, riskwares, ransomwares, and other type of viruses.
It also has a built-in website protection. So if you have visited harm websites, it will automaticly block the website.
And the most Important, its FREE..!

@niko just to clarify, AVG is not finding any virus of course but it's a hassle because hi is detecting 'suspicious behavior' and blocks game for about 10 seconds. After the scan, when he finds nothing, game window reappears and everything goes as it should.

@mutan_gaming thanks for suggestion, I'm gonna check it out :)

Luckily it seems that AVG is not very popular, if this and similar statistics are valid it would mean that very small amount of computers is using it:

Have anyone experienced any similar problems with their antivirus? If those first 10 antivirus programs from the list are not issuing warnings about CopperCube builds than things are looking good.

I will try uploading/downloading my builds from Itch.IO, GameJolt, Newgrounds, IndieDB and ModDB. Maybe game/windows will store some information about application being downloaded from those websites (something like a digital signature/trace from where the file originated) and that would be enough to neutralize AVG... I'm not sure if that makes any sense but it's a fact that my AVG was not triggered by DIM or Cetetorius. Unless they did some weird re-coding of their builds it's the only thing that's different from my builds.
