Hi,
ambiera Community

I am a new user to Coppercube. I previously Used Game Guru & I recommend Coppercube over that because its very simple & easy to use. Full customizable Terrain & we can add pre-made Terrain which has hills of exact same height & in straight columns & rows except that we can add flat terrain too which has exactly the same trees its hard to random seed each of it. Talking of Game-play we can add enemies which can see through walls & we get handful of Animations to choose with Although the characters slides so much with so much speed it doesn't only happens to me but everyone with the tutorial on YouTube. We can add certain object like water surface that have cool reflection but nowadays every fancy game all of Water shaders like Reflections,Refraction & Fresnel. In coppercube we get same gravity inside water as outside. We can also add 3d rooms speaking of which we have to just draw 2D pixelated Tiles but not free lines to get a cool room with paper thin walls. We can get cool Sky-box & at ambiera site we can get "Day & night Cycle" after adding that we get cool day & night cycle with saturated Red fog at the evening & morning time. If we import any kind of models that get messed up textures after importing but don't worry we do have UV mapping feature in coppercube with only move & rotating the texture, we cant stretch it or define any algorithm like other smart softwares do have, Nevertheless its very confusing to use. Scaling & measuring is not a thing of coppercube because we don't have any of measurement units (Thus, we get our character only Grass Tail). But you can set it to right size not a problem do tweaking & preview the game (repeat this process 15+ times to get perfect height of your player). We can not add specular or Bump maps to both terrain or meshes & the last thing thing rotating any object is chaotic because of messed up pivot points (which we cant change) After that all we got our game publish it with cool post-processing effects & Enjoy your game with under 15 fps.

If you read till the end. Thanks for the reading & thanks to developers I mean the only developer.

-Thanks

I'm sure this is Zoo in disguise. Wouldn't surprise me. that, or it's the worthless troll who has an unhealthy obsession with Niko and his priorities...

Seriously, this guy is a super amateur...

Can you really not tell the difference between an experienced dev with coppercube and some guy that can't even work the enemy system correctly.

You are the Zoo troll...

Hi,

I'm super amateur here but I'm not 'zoo' in disguise & I have no unhealthy obsession with Niko. I'm just new here. All of you know its not a troll.

Coppercube is just industry standard, You obviously know the example for this statement is 'GTA Vice City Clone'.... I mean compare the quality of game of today like 'GTA 5' & the game of past 'GTA Vice City' & the best of all the game of coppercube 'GTA Vice City Clone'. No, its not a joke.

Thanks for reply j9907 & Zoo "The experienced dev with Coppercube"

-Thanks

This forum seems to be a battleground nowadays..... Users seems to be more intrested in trolling each other....

@Mathew_theDev you are true but coppercube is not for creating AAA games with stunning graphics and advanced Ai....

It is a good piece of tool for learning game development process..... It is just like a pamphlet of Alphabets, it can teach you the letter but won't teach you words or sentences...

To learn words and sentences you should try other engines out their Unity or unreal engine maybe.

But remember a sentence or word is nothing without alphabets....so it is necessary to learn alphabets first...

In short coppercube is for those who are new or beginner in game development it can teach you lot of things about game development, it may also allow you to create some cool games or 3D walkthroughs. But you can't create a full fledged game with jaw dropping graphics and intense gameplay logics/tactics.... Maybe we can do that in near future... A new renderer may solve the graphics issue... But real physics is the most important feature for me..

I use unreal engine now... Am currently learning the engine basics... I didn't find it that simple as coppercube... Coppercube is still my favourite and i do play with it regularly.... Just today i tested out an animated wolf model in coppercube engine and make him walk and run for about 10 minutes.. Without any reason and then i imported that wolf into unreal engine..

@j9907 idk why people are assuming posts if they were posted by someone else other then the author of the post... Few days ago xanimalking assumed a post if it was posted by me...
Don't make guesses without any proof.

@zoo by reading mathews post it is clear that he is not amateur to game developing.. But yeah he may be new to coppercube.. Maybe calling him amateur had hurt him..

I agree that CopperCube has a number of faults that some other engines don't have but I'm not sure why people are always pointing out that you can't create a professional 3D game with it. Of course you can make a professional 3D game with it. It can't be a photo-realistic, cutting-edge AAA 3D game but these are not the only 3D games people are playing and enjoying.

There's a number of options that CopperCube users can have:
1. You don't like CC's terrain tool - import a terrain model from a hundreds of available terrain-creation tools.
2. You don't like light capabilities of the engine - create lightmaps in an outside editor. I'm really not that smart but even I figured out how to have lightmaps and dynamic lights functioning together in a level.
3. You are using CC's room-mesh tool - why? There's a billion of free editors or game-ready models for rooms.
4. Not happy with post-processing - use ReShade/SweetFX/QeffectsGL injectors for Windows or a million of different solutions for WebGL exports.

You can't create a photo-realistic, cutting-edge AAA 3D game with CopperCube but you CAN create a professional 3D game with it. A good-looking, stylish, well-designed 3D game.

Well, i agree with @just_in_case. CopperCube physics needs a lot of improvement. A.I systems too.. :/

@srfstudio Yup! CopperCube is a 'tricky' game engine. We must use some other tools to get better graphics. I used 3DS Max + terrain creator addon, Blender, and some particle effects creator. I will tell you guys graphic trick for CopperCube when i have free time..

@Zoo i agree with @just_in_case. Maybe calling @Matthew_TheDev an amateur will hurt him.

@niko Well, it's been 7 months since CopperCube last update (6.0.2). I hope there will be huge update for CC..

For now, i use Unity. Because, higher graphic quality, of course.
And i always love learning something new. Unity also has many addons that can make making games with unity became easier (CC Still more easy, to be honest)..

@meandme No, Clickteam are creators of Fusion 2D engine right? I am/was a Construct 2 user, never tried Fusion but it always seemed like a ok 2D engine.

Whats the graphics trick you have as trying to make a full fledged game and about 30% done but need nice weather effects - ie particle system with some dynamic ability but not possible except turn on/off it seems .....

any ideas ?

srfstudio:

What do we call an artist that blames its tools ?
I created this tutorial two days ago because I am tired...REALLY just plain TIRED of hearing people complaining about CopperCube's graphic.

🔎︎

This is not an easy way out, but this WILL give you the quality that you never thought you could achieve in CopperCube, stand aside Unreal !

Matthew_TheDev, you will get better at it with time, stay positive, stick around and keep a look out for people who are helpful and positive.

There are only about three people here in the entire forum that constantly pull people down and rain on their parade, once you found out who they are [they are very easy to detect, their replies are not answers, just an opportunity to beat you down, attack you, or worst, attack the developer himself, very EASY to detect and there are only three of them, the same three], skip pass their comment, you will find that this forum can be quite helpful WHEN your question is within what we can help with.

I myself asked a number of questions that have no answers like just how many bounce is calculated via CopperCube's Global Illumination system, and that's alright, because nobody really knows besides Niko.

Keep positive, there are good people here as there are everywhere :D
