Good evening. I am just starting out with RocketCake and am having lost of troubles. I make a short list. Maybe someone knows the solutions of one of these problems.
1) The boxes showing font name and font size show barely the upper edges of the respective font name size - leaving me guessing what I am working with.
2) I put a number of containers there all with max width = 800, but on the edit screen text is overflowing the borders to the right, also ignoring the presence of images.
3) I cannot seen the left margin of the text in the containers and attempts at moving there have failed so far.
4) The background image does not match the above specified max width. I tried all available options, but none looks good.
5) A table on the edit screen contains text with no space between last text line and cell border, but on the preview there is a wide open space.
6) The list of "web safe fonts" has not a single Japanese font. Can that be right? Using western fonts for Japanese text give rather ugly results.

All these problems render working with RocketCake very stressful and so far I was not able to achieve any appealing results. I do suppose there are some tricks to get results, but so far I was not able to figure those out.

Thank you.

That's really strange. Maybe you are doing something unusual. Did you read through the first tutorial? See here:

You realize that the view is supposed to look different, depending on the size of your browser/screen/editor, right? You can scroll the size in the editor with the slider on the bottom of the editor, to see how it will look like everywhere.

Thank you, but ...
The boxes showing font and its size are "off" when I open the software first time - without doing anything.
Doing something .. I held a printout of your manual in one hand and believe to have followed the instruction. Specifically: setting the max width to 800. Changing this, with the slider or otherwise, does not change any of the problems.
Unexplained (cannot be changed) spaces also still remain.
Items still are displayed in positions (in relation to other items) that do not match the design I tried to achieve during editing. And the result looks ... well, unattractive at best.

Although I am aware, that a "responsive" site SHOULD change with display size etc., I still would like to look at least close to my intended design. Like people who have certain expectations as to how the logo for their product should look like.

I am having trouble also. When I click preview, it opens a browser window and shows me my html code in text form, not a preview of what the page will look like in a browser.

Chas: sounds like you didn't name the extension of your pages ".html". Be sure that the file name of your pages always end with .html.
