Unity versus CopperCube comparison. Not sure why but CC looks better in this case. You can still get some cool looking graphics with CC: https://youtu.be/31QYpGglvBw |

Very good. That whole "mesh-hiding" idea you mentioned is something I did back when I was working on my project. It was an apartment building with 3 floors. If you were on floor 1, floors 2 and 3 are invisible, and vice versa for all 3. It helped immensely. The one thing which is guaranteed to kill frame-rates is if you use water nodes or project videos onto 3D objects. It's a shame that video playback is so inefficient since I actually wanted to have a billboard in an outside area which had videos playing on it. That idea was nerfed after the frame-rate went down the sh!tter... |

good video. I sometimes use unreal engine and I agree - CC can do a good job (with a little effect) at keeping up. I was wondering... what happened to all the great games people were working on. j9907 - you mentioned a 3 floor apartment building. Did it get finished? maybe someday will? Robo how are things going with 'Saturn 7'. you really put a lot of work into it. Are you still making it into a game release? zoo was doing a multiplayer project. I was enjoying his work. I hated when he stopped... srfstudio was doing great work on the 'Aziella Chronicles' Just in Case 'SunnyLand Forest' was really great. John Maksym did a lot of great tutorials... anyone have any updates? What projects are currently in the works? My latest project is a medieval open world game... (not easy in CC) plus I have other projects I am still working on... |

also... you mentioned in the video you should keep the amount of memory needed to about 350 MB - but I have found if you move the main camera a little and change the view before you save, it will work o.k.... I have been over 600 MB on some projects and saved them without crashing. Good work Robo… I tried several times to use unity, but in spite of my good level of Csharp, it is very dıffıcult for me to learn. |

I hope this works the same for me as like to add more details in...:) - over 400MB...nice! Yes, I am still working on Saturn 7, its coming along quite well although bit slower that I would like....All music, most sound effects done, most 3D meshes done also, just need to outfit spaceship interiors (about 20 of them) and tweak the game engine some more.... I worked out just now a partial fix for the faceted geometry using normals in CC - will post video soon. The point lights turning on/off also was due to max 4 lights per mesh with normals so also can easy fix that easy also... |

Someone can work for a terrain editor for CopperCube ? Because the terrain editor from CCB is not very good because you can make a single plan with terrain not more plans like Unity. |

I would import height maps for a proper terrain into CopperCube - default options are terrible. With lots of trees/plants in a terrain you would need a good LOD (Level of detail) setup to change all the further away objects into smaller meshes. Even that might not work that great as CC is only 32 bit using a single core and max 2GB ram available. Thus the more basic default billboard or X configuration of 2x planes with transparent png's is much less taxing and you can cross 3 or 4 png's planes instead of 2 to look better... |

wrote: comparing unity vs cc like comparing bill gates vs me, stay realistic dont compare big company vs 1 developer If you thought I was comparing the 2 game engines then you missed what I was trying to accomplish - was just one example of a Unity demo versus CC - we are not comparing the entirety of both engines here....we all know the benefits of Unity, should be obvious to anyone...not withstanding CC came out better in this example..is it what is is like it or not... |
