If I try to justify text, I often get large spaces between words even though the width of gaps could be reduced, at least this is how it seems. So, why does this happen and how can I reduce the width of these gaps.

The justify algorithm differs a lot between different browsers and also the RocketCake editor. If you click "Preview", does it look better then?

Yes, it does look better in preview mode than in the editor view, didn't think of that - my apologies...
