Works with 3d mesh (not animations).

You have to have the pivot point of the object you are dropping centered to work correctly.

Awesome Robo! this will be a great tool to help with object placement.

Thank you for your contributions to the community!

Thanks :)

download link updated to no longer require you to center the pivot point and now also works with animated meshes.
- works like 99% of the time now.

Occasionally a 3d mesh just doesn't drop properly so just manually do those ones...

Also now added 'snap to Roof' (CTRL R) - to keep naming convention logical now drop to ground is called 'snap to Floor' (now CTRL F).

Also just restart CopperCube once loaded the plugins to work correctly.

Wow, thats a great plugin, i will modify it for my use for x and z axis as well instead of putting them in different files i will put them in one single file and will use some sort of other key combination like

Shift+x to move/shift the object on positive X axis and ctrl+shift+x to move/shift the object on negative of x axis and like that...

Because ctrl+F is used for focus to the object...

Or maybe you can just enhance this and make it snap to object instead of snap to floor and then it will compare if there is an object on either axis of the selected object then will compare the distance between them and will shift towards the nearest object.

And you can call it snaptoObject instead of snaptofloor and snaptoroof, so creating just a single file with all the code will be good to go...

Once again thanks for sharing this...
This will comes really handy while level designing.

This must be one of those you don't know you need it until you do plugins.
Thank you !

here is the link to same plugin created by Robo modified to work on all axis with key mapping like this..

Shift+X = snap to the object on right, positive X axis...

Ctrl+Shift+X = snap to the object on left, negative X axis..
.
Shift+Y = snap to the object on top, positive Y axis...

Ctrl+Shift+Y = snap to the object on bottom, negative Y axis...

Shift+Z = snap to the object on back, positive Z axis...

Ctrl+Shift+Z = snap to the object on front , negative Z axis...

download link https://neophyte.cf/downloadable...

Once again thank you @Robo for sharing this, @bracer yes untill now i was using snap to grid plugin but this is more effective you don't have to specify anything just hit a key and you are done in snap to grid we have to specify grid size and all that stuff... sometime its like we are not hungry but when we see some tasty delicious cooked food on the table our stomach starts trembling... heheh that was really a bad example hahaha
