Hello ,
is there a tutorial on how to export unity packages to coppercube?
Somme sellers allow exporting their assets, but only sell in unity package format.
Thank you for your help !
I really have problems with importing animated fbx's; for example the character appears with all animations running at once on screen ,with no way to only activate one...

Yep, Unity stuff pretty easy. Unreal asset a lot harder I have found.

Import your Unity package into Unity. Then download fbx exporter (free) and export the selected item or even whole demo scene (prefab) as one.

You might need to run an older Unity (2018) version that still supports the older FBX exporter.

The imported package usually has the individual textures in it so that's easy also as you can just open the files in explorer from right click (from memory).

You can now use the albedo and normal mapped textures in CopperCube. Dont load the FBX directly into CC unless has only one texture. First load into Blender then export out again as FBX or OBJ (better) or DAE etc so that all the texture slots show up.

I think that covers it...

Hello Robo , thank you for your help !
For an animated character , is there a procedure to follow so that animations can be imported separately ?. I had an issue with an fbx in coppercube where all animations were merged. There was no way to select an animation, whereas in another model in direct X , separate animations were handled by coppercube. Problem is, today fbx is very common, contrary to directX

FBX is often problematic for animated meshes in CC.

Try using another program to convert to directX maybe like fragMotion.

If it was only combining separate animations together into one then can use Blender if you know how or Unreal engine animation montage is very easy also. I heard that FragMotion can also do this. Otherwise you might have to buy Ultimate Unwrap 3D to do this.

FYI - Unreal files are easy to access but getting correct looking textures the main issue as they have some weird adjustments they do to them that wont look right when imported into CC.

You might be able to merge them in Gimp or Photoshop by making layers to look half ok..

FYI to the above about using the free FBX exporter on Unity asset store - strange but could not find this to re-import and setup anymore.

The free OBJ Exporter was there though and worked fine...

Thank you robo for this information ; I need some time
to test a workflow from unity to coppercube.
