I got 2 levels off Sketchfab and joined them together.

Not bad I would say for Half Life type graphics from 20 years ago...what do you guys think ?
Is this worth keeping for one of the levels in my game or is it too low poly and low quality textures ?

To keep it I would have to re-texture quite a few things....but is it worth it ?...let us know what you think.

Just for fun I created it with 3 working elevators - the goal is to find the monitor with the Alien artifact...can you find it ?

Nice map, definitely has a Half-Life feel to it. Walk-speed is a bit slow for my liking but it's a good level with lots of detail, nice sound effects too.

Hello everybody,

Robo, thanks for sharing.

I agree with Veganpete's comment.

A long time ago, when the game engines weren't affordable for the hobbyists or the freelance developers, I played a lot with the 3D video games.

One of my favorite ones was "The Nomad Soul" developed by Quantic Dream.

I see in Robo's demo some similarities with that old game for which David Bowie composed some great songs.

Music and sounds contributed largely to the fantastic atmosphere in that game.

I think that when there is some hidden things to discover in huge buildings having a lot of rooms it is advisable to provide some tips along the way for not losing player's patience.

Hey Robo, could you please make a DX9 version of your project? It's because when i try to test CopperCube apps on OpenGL renderer, things aren't rendered properly because of my crap integrated graphics, but i really want to see your project.

Just tried it, It's a big, BIG level :)

It's a workable geometry as far as I can see, maybe not all of it, for me the really good parts are starting with that corridor that leads to cafeteria. From there and forward, things are actually geting really imaginative. Especially the reactor/engine/control rooms and corresponding corridors. That one corridor with shifted angles is very cool.

I think with good lighting and some nice textures it could look great. Most of the textures only need resize and maybe some additional detailing. Some would have to be completely replaced.

The only real problem that I can see is somewhat problematic scale issues that may occur. You would have to experiment a lot with floor textures, some of the object sizes and camera-height.

Thanks veganpete, marcw & srfstudio for taking the time to give some feedback. 'acrb' - will redo a DX9 for u soon...

I guess its a nice backup level so when I get some time can re-texture some parts, while some may just need up-scaled textures..

I will remove almost all interior stuff and replace with higher poly, better looking assets of the same type...might be ok then..

I do like that fact it already has the layout down pat as when I start a level from scratch I personally get lost on how and where to join rooms together as just too many possibilities - its nice the have something to work with to start me off...

Also its low polygon so easy to edit and delete/retexture etc with not many selections to change and tonnes of room to add lots more polygons from other assets...

I like the Unity Asset store for cheap assets, Unreal marketplace not so happy as all their stuff is so high polygon its hard to even use any of it without massive decimation in Blender...sometimes free stuff is great also..

Cheers guys!

I love the great levels! large areas, stairs, floors. It's great ! They said everything above, retouching textures and lighting will be great.

Nice level , it gives me vibes of inital Halo games. I can use the elevator and walk up the stairs too. I really liked walking up and down the stairs. Wish there was jump too. Regarding the level everything seems good the textures and all.some doors are half opened so that you can look through them in the next room and all. It will be a pretty nice level if some aliens will be added to it too and yeah lightning needs to be done. But i know that you will make it more beautiful when you will use it in your actual game.
