@Robo tomorrow I will post a video on my youtube Channel showing how to combine and apply different animations to a single 3D model whether it's mixamo animations or any other animations. I will also show how to lock your character's movement to root position if there is no option for In place movement in Mixamo.

Hopefully, then you will be able to do it easily all by yourself. btw in the video, I will show the exact same method of clearing position and then inserting keyframes which i have already suggested in my above post.

Edit:- just downloaded and checked the model that you have provided and it seems that your problem is not related to animation. I think you want to change the pivot point of the animated model which appears to be down below the animated model. please confirm if that is the problem you are facing?

Great to have a video to ground animations Just_in_case
as some mixamo animations even when you click stay in place, is not grounded but upo in the air instead.
Really needed the grounding, not so concerned with pivot points as all animations much blend fromn one to the other smoothly without sudden change in height/position..

Sorry, about not posting that video on the topic. Some realworld situations stopped me from posting the video on the topic. But I will try to post it soon.

Thanks just_in_case - would be great to add to the list of informative videos and help others with same problem from mixamo - which I have seen affects 5-10% of the animations there...

Finally, after ages being passed, I posted the video on Youtube. hope you will find this useful to make it easier for you to watch only that bit of portion in which you are interested. I posted the timings in the description as well by dividing the video into sections.

just go to the lock animations to root position section and you can understand how to lock the animation to root position.

please do ignore my voice texture and accent fluctuating in between the video.

hope you'll find the video usefull.
