New additions made to my game ALIEN REVENGE (ver 1.24) I have now added in: - auto activated doors - 'Johnsey" cat bonus when picked up - game score system based on health & time remaining - game difficulty with 5 levels - improved Alien pathing and climbing based on game level - player jumping and fall damage now added - random starting positions for both the player and the Alien plus 'Johnsey' the cat. https://robo25.itch.io/alien-revenge Note - running full speed down ramps may cause fall damage.. ?My high score was 3,000 - see if you can beat it..... Thanks for comments guys. Another update with a bug fix and proper alien walk sounds...(didnt play in last version) For anyone finding it hard you can jump over any fences for shortcuts so long as your ok to maybe lose health and run speed...sometimes worlks well.. Thanks COA - yes, I thought about something like that as the limited 3 minutes can be quite short... Would be better have a different play option to have a timeless but more difficult play with multiple aliens...something to think about... |

It's not an easy game which is good but for me it's a bit hard with the time limit and damage that happens when you jump and fall and of course with the alien on your heels. Thanks 'creaturefreak' - I tried to make level 0 fairly playable even still. With a little bit of practice you should be able to work out that height you can jump down from and a few shortcuts to make it easier... A longer timer with a slower Alien stalking / hunting walk would be good I think as you mentioned. Would have to make a new game mode for that... see what I can do... |

Thanks coa - you have made a lot of nice games yourself recently and the 'ScifiTrooper' game has come a long way - its cool. I like the dynamic light shot and powerup and rechargeable energy/health. |

I played the game on a live stream and I really liked it, it looks very professional already, I liked the amount of details you put in there like the voiceover for the countdown, however, it was not properly synced with the overlay, there was some delay when the sound plays and the overlay changes. The AI chasing was amazing, maybe you should ask @smnMhmdy, to provide you with his Pathfinding script, I mean he has done true pathfinding using the A* algorithm, which finds the fastest and most accurate path for the AI. I haven't tried @sven's pathfinding but it seems good too. Using path points is good as well, I like the lighting and other stuff in the game. very good job you have done in a very short amount of time. I was not able to beat your score and wasn't able to make it to the escape pod as well but I enjoyed playing it. |

cheers 'Just_in_case' - yes made some upgrades with much less delay now amongst: - new intro screen with fade in/out text - new low health heart beat sound effects with animated icon - some bug fixing with path finding - Ultimate player status - level 5 - other tweaks and changes.. The pathing nodes system works well enough for me inside like this demo - the outside areas in my main game Saturn 7 would be different though.. |
