wrote: Hey, this spurred me to do a bit more work on the subject, and I've written a small batch file and collected two command line applications that fixes this issue. I'll add a link for anyone who wants to try them: https://file.io/PCxICIEMu3MX Link expires in a year, sorry if you're reading this on my next birthday! Wish me Happy Birthday and I'll see if I can dig up a new link. So just put these two .exe and single .bat wherever you like really, and modify the .bat to point at whatever folder you dump your photos in. Run the .bat, and it will look at the orientation flag, transform the relevant jpgs to match the flag, and then delete the flag. Easy peasy! Tested it with RocketCake and now I don't mind as much that RocketCake ignores the orientation flag. Still would be nice to save that step, but hey, what can we do? I do sort of like Micaelo's idea to stop using orientation data at the camera end of things, but I don't see how that will solve the issue that the rotation function on the (windows) PC will just set an EXIF rotate flag rather than actually transforming your picture - and so RocketCake will still have an issue with it? Also, would have to do this on the family phones as well - not even sure where to begin with that on different Android models, but I guess I could start looking. Cheers!
