It would be much nice if there are meta tags used by the forum, so that upon sharing a link to social network, it will embed the data. E.g I shared a link to a post it should automatically share the Title of that post and maybe a bit of the content of the very first post. Right now it doesn't show any embeds on any website. @just_in_case, if you are reading this, your website links also doesn't show any embeds on sharing to social sites. It does show the title only, it would be much better if they have shown some image or other detailed content. thanks for reading. |

That's interesting, usually the title of the website should be enough, which is already set. And it worked usually, for example I know it worked at least previously on reddit. Which social network do you mean specifically? |

@guest, you are somewhat right. When shared to some general platforms the embeds show up from my website as well. For example on Facebook, Whatsapp and Instagram. Maybe that's because they all are owned by Facebook. I recently also figured out why the embeds don't work on some platforms the reason is I was not using "open graph meta tags" and that is why the embeds were not showing up properly on some platforms like Twitter and Discord. I already started using "OG meta tags now" so that the embeds work on most of the platforms. <meta property="og:title" content="CopperCube Action Dialogue Manager"> @niko, Adding meta tags like the above, results in showing the embeds on almost every social media. So yeah, it would be great if we have something like this for the forums. Like in the og:title we can include the thread title, and in og:description we can include the first post of the page. so that it creates a better-looking embed on social platforms. Also, forum links don't show any embeds on Discord. Not sure which social network is OP talking about though. |
