Directional Proximities Behavior

Created a behavior extension that allows you to use Directional Box proximities in CopperCube.

Directional Proximity means, they are proximity boxes that allow you to execute actions when the object enters the proximity from a specific direction, providing you more control over your game and easy development.

This is really a handy and quite functional extension.

This extension comes with a prefab, use the prefab to create the Directional proximity.

See the usage video on YouTube to get an idea of how to this proximity prefab works and what you can achieve with this extension.

It also allows you to execute the action on leaving the proximity area as well.

Watch the usage video here:- https://youtu.be/QyWOMNqRAxA

Download the extension for free from Neophyte.cf

Hope you guys find this extension and prefab useful

Amazing, Thanks for sharing really handy for non-coders. Noticed that you have a comment in the code that you will create spherical proximity if requested, If you can do that then why do you want people to request it? Why don't just create it already, if you are already able to do that, Just wondering not here to criticize your amazing contributions.

Of, this is great! I think this will save a lot of work for me.

Thanks a lot for creating this. Can make a plugin that allows sideways movement please? Unless I've missed something, there doesn't appear to be a way of doing that at the moment without coding.

Nice one JustInCase.

Thanks a lot guys for your positive feedbacks. I am glad that you find the extension useful.

@Guest, Yeah I would have done this at first place adding spherical proximity. But I was saving myself from putting so much stuff or options in the single behavior, so that it will be easy for the users to use it, without having a pain. Also I think that the box proximity is enough and better than spherical proximities in most of the cases. I assumed people won't be needing the spherical proximity at all.

@VP, there is already behaviors available for sideways movement, my 2D controller pack has behaviors that allow you to have sideways movement.
Also, there is an alternative as well, if someone wants to use a 3D controller, you can use the default 2D Jump and Run behavior that allows them to have sideways movement with 3D animations.
For the sideways movement, I also suggest you download and use my 2D camera controller script so that you will have your camera follows the player correctly.

@andgameplay, Thanks for kind words

Update:- Updated the behavior with a bug fix, that was preventing the proximity detection when the object was children of another object. Thanks to @creatureFreak for reporting the bug.

Download the updated behavior from here:- https://neophyte.cf/ccb_behavior...

Would this routine work in a 3D environment, say, to prevent a given character from being able to climb elevated terrain (hills/mountains) until another condition was met?

yes, this should work with 3D geometries as well. You can try it with any 3D geometry. simply scale the proximity prefab according to your needs.
