I Am no longer allowed to work on my projects so * Persistent pc system freezes So then i use more secure encrypted system but: * Nuked ssd * Nuked hdd * More pc system freezes * New tablet freeses and nukes So no fun working like that Maybe somebody likes to take over the historic city mapping project, i think it is well worth the effort. I Can point you to the right tools needed And the best images available on the internet All images are with full copyleft or the request to mention the source Some Images are very large And need be fused from many image scans. NExt year amsterdam has 750 year of city status - some celebrations may like to do something with maps, there are 4 exceptionally beautifull maps available. * Amsterdam woodcut map by Cornelis Anthonisz 1544 * Amsterdam copper etching map by Pieter Bast 1599 * Amsterdam copper etching map by Balthasar Florisz. van Berckenrode 1625 * Amsterdam copper etching map by Gerrit de Broen 1774 OTher special maps: * Pedro Teixeira's Topographia de la Villa de Madrid (1656) city map * Birds eye map of Vienna, Wien, by Josep Daniel Huber * Al the maps of the atlas maior dutch citys * All the maps of the Atlas "topograhia germania" book helvetia There are 16 books in this atlas * There are italian city maps rome ! Venice ! * I also have city maps of polisch russian english french chinese japanese that i cant read. All these are beautifull historic pictoral maps that deserve an audience, and may well find one with a better host project manager. THAT I AM NO LONGER ALLOWED TO WORK ON THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU CANT WORK SUCCESFULLY ON THIS. IT IS A DUTCH PROBLEM. Pc requirements: What i have, Modest internety connection: upload 1 Mb/s download 10 Mb/s Older Core i 5; 4cores 4 threats 3 ghz 16 gb ram, ssd this worked well untill 2015 Although it struggles with the very large images 10500 px 16bit tiff for the monster vienna map So if you are interested let me know in this threat |
