I've been trying to get cars to work in this game for a minute
I've had cars in coppercube games that work and I saved them as a prefab but when I load them into a new level they just don't work

any suggestions?

What do you mean when you say they don't work? Scripts? Textures? What exactly is the problem?

like so the way most of them work is they will follow like a scene node and the car will get stuck and it just will like soft lock the game

When you saved the car as the prefab was the scene empty of everything but the car you intended to make a prefab out of?

Hmm. Check your collision on your nodes to see if anything is toggled on that wasn't on in the scene where the car worked. A child node that has collision on can cause the parent node to do weird things when it is moved.

make sure, that the car's collision ellipsoid in your new scene is in the air and is not clipping with anything else in your scene, the scene itself might cause issue, try changing the size of the ellipsoid. Also make sure that you don't have any missing or unecessary behavior or extension attached to your car, that was present in the previou scene.

I got the car to work I don't know why it wasn't working earlier I just tried it in a new scene and it worked, but I have a new problem When the player gets out of the car I'm trying to get the player to be next to the car

and I have the position set so when the player gets out of the car it teleports the camera to right next to the car but it will just like put the camera way to far away from the car and I don't know how to change that maybe relative to scene node is broken any ideas?

Might be because you are triggering an on proximity behavior. try making it so the player is outside that area if you are.

@spicymilk

Try changing the name of your car camera to Camera2 and see if that helps you.

Also instead of setting the player's camera's position relative to car1 when he gets out you may want to parent an empty node to the car and set the player's camera position to that plus the height of the camera so 0, 15.0, 0 or so. That way getting out of the car is more consistent. Of course you have to the move that empty node to beside the car's door. Note you also have to turn off collision for the empty node you use to do this.

But changing the name of the car camera seems to have improved the car exit much better. I don't do much visual scripting in this engine so I am not the best to help. Maybe VP will see this post and lend you his expertise on the matter. Hopefully this helped.
