Extremely Radical Jerking movement while moving screen objects

I have created a layout container and created an HTML code container within it. When I left click my mouse on the object and then attempt to drag the object (via the white, upper left hand box) to a new location the entire presentation begins a radical, jerking movement!

I have changed batteries in my mouse thinking it was a low battery issue.

But the issue continues. Then as soon as it shows up...it will stop.
I can then move objects around the screen without issue...then it starts up again.

I have made sure that the objects are within the Layout Container.

Need some advice on this one...makes working with the program frustrating.

Observation:
After the HTML object has been created within the layout container.
I mouse/left click on the object. I then place my mouse over the upper, left hand arrow box and hold my left mouse key down....WITHOUT moving an inch the entire work page starts jerking up and down. I do see the same icon for the mouse cursor as is in the white box on the screen...as long as I hold the left mouse button down. It stops when I release the button.

Update:
I have been testing this out to see what is the problem...from a user's
standpoint of course...and I can only describe what I have found.

It seems that the issue does not effect HTML code objects near the
hard edge of a layout container.

For example, if I have two rows of three objects, and want to resize
any object on the top row...doesn't seem to be an issue...BUT if I
have an abundance of design space below the second row of
objects (I have sized the layout container to be 2000H for example)
and attempt to resize a point (to stretch it out) on any of the three
objects on the second row...that is when I experience this unusual
"jerking" effect. At this point it is virtually useless in attempting to
resize (or even move an object).

Update:
The created objects start this motion after their bottom is just over
610 pixels from the top of the page.

There seems to be an issue? with the predefined page size
(120w8x710h) and the point of the object's resized position. Is there a way to input another base value for the blank web page(s)?

As long as the object's furthest position, from the top, does not exceed
610 pixels from the top I can resize objects all day long!

Bottom Line!
I am finding that any object created on the generic web page that
is resized larger than 610 pixels from the top will want to creep
to the lowest point of the container it is in.

Doesn't matter if multiple layout containers are created.
If the position value is below 610 pixels then it has a problem.

How can I make a web page with the base dimensions at:
800w X 1100h? ....and NOT get the issues that I am mentioning
above?

Thanks,
Ted

Hi, I'm not able to reproduce your problem. Could you maybe post a screenshot of what you are doing?
Another thought: Are you using the latest version of WebsitePainter (version 1.2.1)? Scrolling and object movement has been a bit improved in that version, if you are not using that one, maybe this helps already.

Hi Niko!

Yes I am using version 1.2.1. Do you use Mac's to test with?

In another post I mentioned that I use a dual Quad with Leopard OSX.

Here is what I am finding to be the issue...

When I examine the default code it defaults at about 1200x700...?
Now as long as I DON'T resize the .html page (by inserting a
layout container and dragging it down the screen...I guess it
auto-resizes to follow the object) I NEVER have the issue that
I have been detailing to you....because the lowest point of the
page dimensions are within view (nothing is "below" the edge
of the screen).

But when I create a layout container that exceeds those dimensions...
let's say 800x2000 that is where the problem starts up.

I have spent a LOT of time testing this and what happens is that
when I insert an interior layout container (inside the 800x2000 layout
container) and move the smaller layout container so
that its lowest corner point is below 610 pixels from the
top of the larger layout container...the screen starts scrolling down
as if to seek the lowest point of the layout container that it is within....remember....this is a small "box" inside of a larger "box".

I will make a screen capture video and send it to your support
e-mail address.

QUESTION:
Why can't the users input their own default dimensions of a new
.html page? Or is that a feature that I am over looking?

I created a video page that contains a grouping of 7 YouTube videos
for a client. I gave your software a test run by using it for the project.

This ONE issue almost made me abandon using the program.
It was highly aggravating to have the layout containers "jerking"
all around the screen!

I REALLY would like to find out what the issue is...because this is
a deal breaker for me using this program any longer.

Your program has potential but I can't use it professionally at this
point. I'm a Dreamweaver user and am looking for a "quick"
.html tool to generate small projects with.

Take care,
Ted

Ok, thanks for the description. A video would be very nice, but I maybe should be able to reproduce this. I also added a feature request for entering default sizes for html pages, probably this is already solving most of the problem. But I'll have a look at that.

Thanks!

I REALLY want this to work out! I see so much power in this program...
but have to look at what I can use for my client projects as well.

I am hoping that if the html page size can be "setup" that maybe this
problem will go away. The issue did not seem to manifest itself as long
as I kept all objects within the visual work area....which corresponds with
the basic default page size....AND I did not try to force the page to
auto resize to a longer page length.

Thanks for your efforts in all of this.

I just tried it out, and it works, from what I can say. So the next release will include an option like that.
