Copperlicht doesn't do anything with googleads or similar, are you sure that is caused by the engine?

firebug tells me that the .js file wants to load something from google which works when using localhost/ but not when using file:///.

Maybe you or some tool has modified the copperlicht.js file on your disk. (I've seen computer viruses doing this, btw). Can you open the copperlicht.js file and see if there hasn't been any code added? Otherwise: Is the copperlicht.js file the only script in your project?

Suggestion to try out which part of your code is causing this: Remove a library and test if this still happens.

For anyone interested, this was most probably caused by a version of Firebug that didn't properly isolate console output between tabs. Most likely another tab was trying to load those URLs.
