I have put a TextEdit with multiline enabled on a webpage but even when a large text is typed no scrollbar is shown.

Is this a bug or just not supported? Could this temporarily be solved by adding some css attributes?

Yes, add to the 'additional css styles' the following:

overflow:auto;

that should help.
