Hi, I've been trying to use 3D sound in my game but I can't get it to work. I tried the 3D sound tutorial aswell but I dont get the 3D positional sound effect, I only get a 2D stereo effect. I am running the applicaiton on a Windows 7 computer with no fancy sound card. I read something about Microsoft dropped support for DirectSound3D on Vista and Higher. So I've been thinking that maybe that is my problem. Do I need a better sound card so I can run Creative Alchemy and therefore get the 3D positional sound effect? |

If you run the precompiled examples under bin, do you get 3d sound? |

No I dont think so. It feels like the sound moves on a x-axis and the z-axis has the constant value 0. |

Can you hear 3d sound from other software, such as 3d games? If not, then maybe your audio hardware ignores it, or there might be another reason like you plugged in your speakers the wrong way. :) But it might also simply by a driver issue. |
